I don’t think our house was an easy build for Jeff. Despite many obstacles, he was able to make our dream lake home come true. Jeff was excellent in helping us pick out a plan that maximized the aspects we cared the most about while not breaking our budget. There are many aspect of our house that we love. My wife adores her kitchen and the screened in porch area. I love our vaulted ceiling living room area and downstairs bar area. Whenever we were unsure about a particular aspect of the build, Jeff was great in giving guidance on the various options each step of the way. I hope we never have to build another home, but if we were to ever build again then I would definitively give Jeff a call.

J.S. Howell Custom Homes built our house on the South Holston River. It was a true pleasure to work with Jeff and his team of suppliers and subcontractors. Jeff and Bekah offered the type of flexible service that met my needs in designing and building a custom home in the Tri-Cities. We began the project via video calls before I moved to TN. While I started with a pre-designed online house plan, Jeff made recommendations and layout adjustments in order to better accommodate some of the design elements I was seeking – such as larger entertaining spaces including kitchen, eating and indoor/outdoor recreation areas, elevated foundation and ceilings to increase natural light and improve views from every room, larger master bath and closet, and additional storage. Jeff also introduced me to my interior designer who was very helpful in finding custom fixtures and other items that I was looking for but that were not readily available in the local Tri-Cities market. Jeff was willing to work with his sub-contractors to try some new ideas and use different materials than are typically found in local homes. While not everything worked as planned the first time, Jeff was always willing to meet onsite, talk through options and try to find solutions to any issue. He was a thought partner throughout the process focused on helping me achieve my vision while still accomplishing his job of completing the build. I really appreciated his communication, creativity and willingness to make things work – while also gently reminding me about a “budget” on some choices.
